Where Clouds Meet

Grief E-journal
Royal College of Art, London
2024

Where Clouds Meet is a digital grief journal created by four students from the Royal College of Art. Developed as part of a collaborative project on care and loss, it offers a gentle space for processing grief through writing, drawing, and small acts of making.

Inspired by mourning traditions from around the world, the journal doesn’t replicate rituals but draws on their spirit—the quiet ways people hold memory, honour absence, and find meaning in everyday gestures.

Its soft, scroll-based format unfolds slowly, with hand-drawn illustrations, open-ended prompts, and intentional pauses. Tactile activities like origami sit alongside space for writing and drawing, encouraging users to move through their experiences at their own pace.

The journal is available in two formats: a mock-up style digital book, where font, paper texture, and layout come to life, and a downloadable PDF for those who wish to spend more time with it offline or on their own terms.
